Staff allowed us to change our room so we could have a view of the pacific ocean. Room was very nice just like the photo on the internet. Room was clean, staff was very polite.
Shower water temperature room 120 goes from very hot to very cold every 30 seconds
The bed was incredibly comfortable, and all the linens seemed to be very clean. Also the hotel staff (Paul) was very friendly and accommodating. Allowed us to check in early, though I did not exactly appreciate that they cleaned and re-linened & toweled the room 2 hours before our checkout when we went out for breakfast the next morning. "Are we allowed to take a shower?? Hmmmmmm......."
The hotel is old & run-down, not contemporarily maintained. (highly trafficked carpets (was a shoes-on hotel for me), chipped paint, bland artwork, etc.) I find it very hard to believe that these rooms usually go for $229/night, per the claim of the online booking site. I felt like we were misled to stay in a place that was nothing like what was advertised. I don't like leaving a neg. review, but overall I was disappointed with my stay. I expected to be a bit more in Cannery Row (as suggested by the name ) .... not at the very end of it 2 blocks up, though was convenient for wharf & downtown. I don't necessarily fault the hotel for not meeting my standards/expectations, but I do not think it is accurately advertised.
This is the second time we have stayed at Cannery Row Inn and both experiences were wonderful. The beds were great. You are within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. We highly recommend Cannery Row Inn and we will continue staying with you.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. they also served a wonderful continental breakfast.
Overall inn was good. Will suggest friend to stay.
Sink too high. Tap noise too loud. Bath tub water flow a little slow.
We chose Cannery Row Inn strictly on price and location. The best part of the room was the linens. All else was dated and not quite clean. I would definately not reccomend Cannery Row Inn for a germaphobe. Also, don't forget your hair dryer or you'll be stuck with wet hair as I was. If you are travelling on a budget and not looking for a pristine quiet place Cannery Row Inn may be an ok spot just for a night or two.
This is definately an older building with a few updates. Our room though it had a decent view of the bay had a vague odor of feces, the remote did not work on the tv and the sliding screen to the patio was badly warped and did not close. Also our room was right next to the road which was pretty busy and right above the dumpster so we had noises coming at us all the time.
The newness of the room, how clean it was and location.
Hotel staff needs personalty. Carpet and wall art in room needs to be updated to match the rest of the room.
The best thing: very low price
My husband and I decided to book this hotel because it was a good $100 cheaper than any other hotels in the Cannery Row area. We were hugely disappointed with our stay -- our main issues were the loud road noise that kept us up all night and ants in the bathroom. We decided to cancel the 2nd night we had booked, as we were not interested in even trying another room in this hotel. Hotel staff were less-than-friendly, even snotty. Simply, it was not worth sacrificing our comfort and a good nights sleep just to save a few bucks.
The location is one of the best ones, walking to Cannery Road and Fishermans warf, perferct!
I did not like that I booked a room for one price and when I get there they tell me I have to pay more to get the room I booked!!!! Their excuse was that they were getting busy and can't upgrade anymore but the hotel was half empty, I did pay their price so I could have what I asked for and was not happy for that! It was as if I had gone directly thru them! And they sugest I do that from now on! I miss your rates!!!
The hotel is a bit worn but the location is fabulous right behind Cannery Row and close to beach access. I parked my truck and never used it for the entire stay. Because of the location I either walked or rode my bike everywhere. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, and the price was very affordable. There was a little breakfast set up every morning which was just enough to get you kick started for the day. The staff was very helpful. I would stay here again and plan to in the future.
I booked this room after reading reviews, both good and bad. I came to the conclusion, that the bad reviews were from guests that should have spent the money to stay in a luxury five star hotel. Hotel staff was friendly, and the fruit and muffins were a bonus in the morning. The bed was super comfortable and wireless was nice to have. If you want a room with a view, pay the little extra, its worth it! I would definitely stay here again.
I didn't realize it was a little further from the main part of cannery row, but now that I know, I will be more informed next time. I still wouldn't opt to stay closer to the main section because of the price point.
Very nice friendly staff. Hotel has perfect location, clean rooms. All what I needed.
None. But keep in mind this is not a luxury resort just a small nice hotel.
The location was great! Very short distance to the beach. The aquarium and Cannery Row were within walking distance.
The stopper to the bathtub didn't work and there were ants when we woke each morning.
Central location to Cannery Row area. Walking distance from the beach. We loved this place. Reasonably priced.
